// Gustavo Chaise

Native of the most Southern state in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, Gustavo Chaise grew up in a large musical family as the youngest guitar-playing brother of four. Beginning his musical education at the early age of 8 in the cradle of Gaúcho Rock 'n Roll, town of Passo Fundo, Gustavo was nurtured on early North-American '50s & '60s Rock with iconic bands such as the Beatles & the Rolling Stones. As much as his state differs from the rest of Brazil, so does his relationship with Brazilian music. Pulsing with Southern Gaúcho rhythms such as xote and milongas mixed with alternative Brazilian Rock such as Jorge Mautner, Sérgio Sampaio & the Mutantes.

With 15 years of professional experience, Gustavo has composed original music, fronted several of his own bands (Severo em Marcha, Cumbia Libre) and has become one of the most requested bass & guitarist in his state backing up Gaúcho Rock icons such as Wander Wildner, Jimi Joe and Nenung & Projeto Dragão, amongst many others.
In 2016, he released his first EP on Worldhaus entitled "Berlin Sessions”. Now living in Los Angeles, California and having furthered his education in music at the Musicians Institute in LA, Gustavo is working on merging his eclectic perspective of Southern Rock to the American scene in his future projects.
